Maybe that’s a clue as to how his ambition might be received? Tom McLaughlin who introduced us to The Accidental Prime Minister, entrances readers with his original ideas. What’s more his daft humour is a perfect foil to his superb draftsmanship. This graphic novel, the first of a two-parter, is rich with character and inference. Then again, its two coloured graphics are skilful, hilarious and full of asides and insider jokes. It means that this is a joy to read. Bookwagon suggests that Alan, King of the Universe: Book 1 is ideal for readers of every age. The humour is daft, subversive and explosively funny!
