Description Share Post The Terrible Trio 2: The Day the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Ran Out Swapna Haddow, illustrated by Minky Stapleton (Scholastic) The Terrible Trio 2: The Day the Mac ‘n’ Cheese Ran Out is set in a world where all animals have superpowers. However, for Zeb the zebra, Margarine (Marg) the penguin, and Barry the lemur, their powers are rubbish. They were at the back of a very long queue when the powers were granted. Marg can now make macaroni and cheese, Barry has been gifted the power of perfect handwriting. Zeb, meanwhile, is now able blend in on a…Zebra crossing. Zeb’s power has caused a very serious problem. While mucking about (and disappearing) on such a crossing, he has caused a very hungry lion to stub his toe. The lion is angry as well as hungry. Something is going to get eaten and it looks like it’s Zeb. Zeb persuades the lion instead to accept a huge pile of Marg’s delicious mac ‘n’ cheese for him and his large pride. Unfortunately, Zeb is unaware that Marg has mysteriously lost the power to make it. As time ticks away and Zeb finds himself all trussed up and ready to be roasted on the lion barbecue, will Marg solve the mystery of how she lost her power? This very funny graphic novel is full of laughs and absurdities, with great dialogue, hilarious art work and loads of great visual gags.
