Description Share Post The Fairy Tale Fixers: Cinderella Deborah Underwood, illustrated by Jorge Lacera (HarperCollins) What’s a mouse to do? It seems the shenanigans at the library cannot sleep! It means there’s a last minute call that must be made! This is a case for The Fairy Tale Fixers: Cinderella. What could be Cinderella’s dearest wish? Surely it’s to cast off the shackles of her mean home with dastardly stepsisters and stepmother? In fact, wouldn’t she be better off with a handsome Prince? Isn’t that what anyone wishes for? That what this fixer’s certain of! There might be a trench coat beneath the fairy godmother gown, but this detective fixer’s in it for a £50.00 reward, and is certain of what he’s doing. However Mouse’s not so sure. After all, this prince is not really the charming type. What’s more, the shoe that Cinders has left behind will definitely fit nobody else in the kingdom? Or could it be that the Fairy’s skills might be useful after all? Deborah Underwood is an award winning children’s writer. Alongside Jorge Lacera, she’s created a graphic novel that Bookwagon hopes will build a series. Not only is this refreshingly funny, but it’s vibrant, frank and unpredictable. We love the graphics but then the characters are sharp and engaging. Like Alan, King of the Universe: Book 1, there’s a quick dialogue and witty misunderstandings. Bookwagon is really happy to recommend The Fairy Tale Fixers: Cinderella.
