Description Share Post The Galileo Heist Isaac Turner Investigates 3 Sam Sedgman, with illustrations by David Dean (Bloomsbury) Isaac and Hattie travel to Florence to spend the summer with Isaac’s grandfather. Isaac is unfamiliar with his Grandfather, although he does know that his father had a difficult relationship with him. It doesn’t take long for them to find out some shocking revelations about Grandad. He has been framed for the theft of a valuable jewel and further, it’s apparent that he has a criminal past as a gentleman burglar known as the Tarantula. To make matters worse, he is accused of stealing a precious jewel from a local businessman. This is an antique jewel of scientific significance that once belonged to Galileo and later belonged to Isaac’s mother. Grandad protests his innocence. Isaac and Hattie, with the help of ‘security consultant’ Olga and his grandfather, begin planning to steal back the jewel in an audacious heist. The heist is timed for the day of the total eclipse when the city is plunged into darkness for four and a half minutes. They practice and rehearse their roles in the heist assiduously, but as their plans continue, Isaac gets restless and suspicious. He believes there is a traitor within their midst. When he learns that the Whitethorne Corporation Trust (who he has encountered in The Clockwork Conspiracy) want to buy the jewel, Isaac knows he needs to stop them. The Galileo Heist is a thrilling adventure that throws in double crossing and solving an impossible problem. Isaac and Hattie must learn who they can trust, very quickly. How far are they willing to go to do the right thing?
