Description Share Post The Overthinkers’ Club: Happy List Nat Luurtsema (Usborne Books) ‘Overthinking is [to] have a small worry and then- think about the worst thing that could happen in that situation and THEN- think what if that got worse, and worse, and EVEN WORSE….’ Birdie and her best friend, Chloe are determined to overcome their overthinking through The Overthinkers’ Club: Happy List. Thereafter, they offer three things each day that make them grateful, or the ‘grats’ according to Herb. (He can’t really be in love with Birdie, can he?) Mind you, there’s a lot to overthink about, especially with the move from the only home Birdie’s even known. Then there’s Chloe’s need to find another friend, which sees her with the Cool Gang. However the worst, worst thing ever happens, when Birdie has to use Lost Property kit…. School’s a hot bed, but home? With Dad and Finn and Birdie moving in with Maxine, Jay and The Pea? Yet, without Pamela Hamela? With Mum’s bad Wifi connection meaning their weekly calls are all at sea? Like My Best Friend and Other Enemies for example, The Otherthinkers’ Club: Happy List is such a readable, accessible and enjoyable book. Cleverly, Nat Luurtsema recognises how each of the people in Birdie’s life might overthink. In fact, could overthinking be rather common? Thereafter, what solutions might Birdie’s friends and family employ? A washing machine dance, for example? Then again, walking chips? Bookwagon loves this title and recommends it to our readers.
