Description Share Post Who Are We? Animal Diversity World of Wild James Carter and James Munro (Graffeg) Bookwagon delights in the collaboration between James Carter and James Munro. This has resulted, after all, in non-fiction poetry titles, including Off They Go! In fact, this pair’s World of Wild series is outstanding. Thereafter, we’re exploring Who Are We? Animal Diversity. This book begins with a line up of our ‘countless kinds‘ and ‘many types‘. Firstly, we meet mammals who are ‘born alive/ and- breath air/ – feed with milk/ grow fur and hair’ . After this, readers are reminded of the animals that slot into this group. It seems we move from ‘sleepy sloths’ to ‘kangaroos’! Then again, what about birds? What of their ancestors- ‘dinosaurs’? In fact, there are birds that sing, and swim and waddle. There are those that chat and hover and dive, but it seems they’re ‘always so inspiring‘. Bookwagon loves travelling through each species, from fish and insects, arachnids to crustaceans. What’s more, the creature quiz at this titles’ conclusion is a bonus. It’s here that the writer offers a glossary of zoological terms included within this book. All in all, this is the seal on such a riveting, informative and engaging title that we love and recommend. In fact, Bookwagon asserts that Who Are We? Animal Diversity merits a place on classroom and library shelves, in addition to those at home. It’s such a handy book in which the author and illustrator’s engagement and joy are so evident.
