Description Share Post Bear and Bird: The Secret and Other Stories Jarvis (Walker Books) Bird’s dismayed that Bear’s not given him a nickname. After all, all the other animals have one especially gifted by his friend. There’s Wooshy for Rabbit and Tip-Tap for Mouse. In fact, even Pig has a special nickname, ‘Twirlypops, because of [his] tail’. Bird’s dismay leads to a quick decision and ultimately a rather confusing shopping list… Then again, both friends make lists declaring things they don’t like. There are so many! Lasagne, for example, the word ‘armadillo‘ and the colour purple. In fact, there are so many that the pair decide it’s impossible to be friends, isn’t it? However, what if one of the friends is so bad at keeping secrets that he goes to the extreme of putting bananas in his ears! Will it help? Or might it lead to him hearing even more? The fourth and final story in Bear and Bird: The Secret and Other Stories involves a bubble machine and the very best hiding space. Then again, what if there’s nobody searching… really? Bookwagon adores every book that Jarvis creates. This title, the fifth in a magnificent series, including, The Stars and Other Stories, is highly recommended to less experienced chapter book readers. However, this Bookwagoneer, who’s been reading books for many, many, many years, leaps at the chance to read a new instalment. Thereafter, we are so happy to welcome aboard, Bear and Bird: The Secret and Other Stories.
